WINCHESTER — The Winchester Peewee Girls’ Red Sox had two games this past week as they welcomed Kenmore #1 on Monday night and travelled to Kenmore to take on Kenmore #2 on Friday night.

The Winchester Peewee Girls’ Red Sox welcomed Kenmore #1 to Park 100 on Mon., June 12, in the Rural Ottawa Softball Association. The Red Sox went into the game with a perfect 6-0 record and looked to make it seven in a row.

Kenmore opened the scoring with a single in the top of the first inning but the Red Sox answered with four runs in the bottom of the first taking a 4-1 lead into the second.

Kenmore replied with a three-run second inning but again the Red Sox’ bats were working, scoring another four runs in the bottom half of the inning to take an 8-4 lead. Kenmore added a single in the top of the third but again the Red Sox answered four runs in the bottom of the third making it 12-5.

Kenmore went three up and three down in the bottom of the fourth inning and the Red Sox offence scored another maximum four runs to make it 16-5. Kenmore scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning to make it interesting but the Red Sox added a single to make it 17-9 heading into the sixth inning.

Kenmore scored a single run in the top of the sixth inning but it wasn’t enough as the Red Sox extended their undefeated streak to seven taking the game 17-10.

Scoring the runs for the Red Sox were Allison Roach and Megan Thompson with three each, Delaney Johnston, Ashley Wasylko and Sara Sloane each scored deuces and Mia Ziegler, Adrianna Van Breugel, Amanda Shay, Alexis Sharpley and Reise Marriner scored singles.
