MAXVILLE – The annual K9 Sports Fest took over the Maxville fairgrounds over the weekend. The two-day event ran from Sat., July 22 to Sun., July 23, and saw a huge turnout with approximately 600 dogs competing each day, said organizer Erika Anderson.

The event hosted 35 vendors of all types for spectators, owners and canine athletes to enjoy. The 10 sporting events covered the fairgrounds, as well as food vendors and a K9 cafe that served fresh lemonade.

Next year’s date has already been announced for July 14 and 15, 2018. “We are proud to be a local festival and be named Canada’s largest dog sporting and working festival,” concluded Anderson.
