RUSSELL—The St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School Ravens’ Senior Boys Basketball team welcomed the L’École secondaire catholique d’Embrun Dynamos on Wed., Dec. 6, in the PRSSAA.

Dynamos 29 Ravens 25: The Ravens were supposed to begin playing the previous week but due to unfortunate circumstances they played two this week starting with the Dynamos. The first half of the game was a yawner for the Ravens as they watched the Dynamos take a 16-5 lead. The Ravens rebounded a little in the third quarter outscoring the Dynamos 9-5 making it a 21-14 game.

The Ravens continued to get better as the game wore on and they scored another 11 points in the final frame but the Dynamos dropped eight taking the game by a score of 29-25. Scoring for the Ravens were Thomas Fitzpatrick with 11 points, Adam Davison with six, John Watson and Frank Gabriel each with three and Noah Edmonds scored a deuce.

Ravens 33 Wildcats 28: The Ravens’ Senior Boys Basketball team welcomed the Rockland District High School Wildcats on Fri., Dec. 8, in the PRSSAA. The Ravens were coming off a 29-25 loss to the Embrun Dynamos and looked to even their season at 1-1. It was a close first half but the Ravens eventually took a 15-12 lead into the dressing room at the half.

The game remained close as the teams battled to an 8-8 third quarter but the Ravens took a 23-20 lead into the final frame. The Ravens’ defence came up big allowing just seven points in the fourth quarter while their offence put up 10. The Ravens hung on to take the game 33-28. Scoring for the Ravens were Adam Davidson with 13 points, Noah Edmonds with eight, Frank Gabriel with seven and Thomas Fitzpatrick with five.
