Chalmers United Church (of the Avonmore-Finch-Martintown Pastoral Charge) celebrated its 122nd Anniversary on Sun., June 4, at Finch. Guest speakers Judy Neville (left) and brother Jim Brownell presented “Giving British Home Children a voice,” and are seen here with Rev. Lois Gaudet. The presentation included reference to their own grandmother, a BHC, as well as other BHC stories and quotes to bring a voice to those over 100,000 children who were sent to Canada between the 1860s and 1940s and most often never revealed what growing up was like in that era.     Carruthers photo
