Caring staff reap rewards

KEMPTVILLE – The Upper Canada District School Board recognized excellence in members of its staff on Mon., June 5, at the 2017 Celebration Night awards ceremony at North Grenville District High School in Kemptville.

Local Volunteer of the Year winners included Marilyn MacMillan of Russell Public School in Russell for her volunteer work with at-risk readers and for tending the school’s flower garden, and Sharon Richardson of Nationview Public School in Mountain.

The Service Excellence Award was presented to Sherry MacLachlan of Char-Lan District High School, Karen Ault of Maxville PS, Alison Eamon of Long Sault PS, and Rudie Somerville of Nationview PS. Corrie Kelly of Nationview PS received the Director’s Award of Merit.
