The Rockets took a 3-1 lead into the second intermission.

The Rockets came out on fire in the third period as Barkley sniped one from Brad Stitt and Veenstra on the power play at 3:05 of the third period to make it 4-1. The Rockets made it 5-1 when Justin Lefebvre scored an unassisted goal at 5:32 and 6-1 at 8:40 as Van Kessell lit the lantern from Fingler and Roth on the power play.

The Jets added a late goal with just 1:53 remaining as Lachapelle snapped one home from Roy and Tyler Jodoin but it was too little too late as the Rockets took the game 8-2 extending their winning streak to five games and moving into sole possession of third place. Picking up the win in the Rockets’ goal was Jason Buma making 25 saves on 27 shots.
