RUSSELL – The Russell Meadows Retirement Community Council hosted their well-attended St. Nicholas Bazaar on Tues., Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents of the facility with their friends and family members were treated to the musical talents of the Dutch Treat Choir and a visit from St. Nicholas himself. In addition, visitors also included a few residents from sister retirement community, Kemptville Retirement Living.

There were vendor tables with crafts, handmade knitted or crocheted items, jewellery, spices and food, a talented carpenter with wooden puzzles, as well as a white elephant table and a silent auction. A raffle and door prizes added to the festive Christmas bazaar. Dutch refreshments included Gouda cheese, speculaas cookies and fresh delicious raisin bread.
