CORNWALL – Landon Curtis MacNeil was born at 00:01:00 on Jan. 1 at the Cornwall Community Hospital. He weighed in at eight pounds and four ounces, and was 49 ½ centimetres. He was born to mother Julie Edmonds and father John MacNeil. Landon is the couple’s second child together and MacNeil’s third.

Both Edmonds and MacNeil were born in Winchester District Memorial Hospital and were raised in Morrisburg. The couple lived there until a few years ago but their parents still reside in Morrisburg.

Landon and his two-year-old sister Talia are grandchildren to Edmonds’ mother Corinne Van Dusen and MacNeil’s father and namesake, John MacNeil.

Landon was expected on Jan. 6 but was eager to join the world. His parents both said they are still a little shocked at the early arrival but are more prepared this time around. The couple spent a few days at the hospital before returning home to meet the family. Talia knows her brother’s name and MacNeil’s 16-year-old daughter cannot get enough of the little guy.

As the New Year baby, Landon received a goody basket filled with gifts, including an anonymously donated New Year’s outfit and hat. A similar basket was given to the Christmas baby at the Cornwall Hospital.

Edmonds and MacNeil were thrilled with the new addition to their family and couldn’t be happier. “All of the nurses and staff were awesome,” said MacNeil.
