RUSSELL – After patiently waiting for spring to come our way, through what felt like an endless winter, at long last, it feels like the spring season has finally arrived.

Russell’s Beyond the House introduced their Spring into Summer selection Sat., April 20 to help ring in the new season of gardening. This year’s event was also in partnership with Russell’s Ladies Night, that is currently raising money for Debra Canada as a tribute to Jonathan Pitre, who passed away last year.

“This is our kickoff to the upcoming gardening season,” said Kareen Seguin, manager of Beyond the House. “With a $10 donation to Debra Canada, customers will receive various discounts on plants, pots and other various items.”

According to Seguin, a variety of tropical plants are set to be very hot sellers in the coming weeks, becoming very popular in local gardens.

“Tropical plants that we got earlier this week are usually very popular at this event,” she said. “People can get a head start on their container-planting and plants for their home as well.”

Seguin continued, “Our winter nursery stock is also very popular including trees, shrubs and perennials, which are all half-priced today if the customer donates $10 towards Debra Canada.”

Beyond the House also offered customers refreshments and a BBQ.
