KEMPTVILLE – After a spring and early summer of uncertainty, the Seaway Surge Baseball Club wraps up their abbreviated summer season this week in the National Capital Ontario Baseball Association (NCOBA).

The Seaway Surge fielded 9 teams from 9U to 18U this year, with the shortened season beginning in late July. Our players and coaches were very excited to return to the field, even with the extra precautions taken during the pandemic. Regular hand sanitizing, wiping of equipment, and social distancing became the regular routine at the diamond, but that did not stop the Surge teams from having fun and providing strong competition throughout all age groups in NCOBA. “The pandemic has challenged everyone to make adjustments, and baseball is no different”, said Surge President Tim Hamilton. “We are very proud of all our coaches and players, and thank our parents for being on board with the changes and contributing to a successful season.”

With the summer season almost complete, the Surge are looking ahead to their fall programs, and tryouts for our 2021 summer season teams. Information for fall ball will be posted online shortly, and summer 2021 team tryouts are going ahead beginning the weekend of September 11, 2020. Registration is open online for all age groups with a $25 tryout fee.

Our programs cannot be successful without the contributions of our coaches. The Seaway Surge are looking to fill future coaching vacancies for the 2021 summer season at the 9U and 18U age groups.
