WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Junior-Senior Pioneers had just a single game this past week as they welcomed the Kemptville #3 Wildcats on Wednesday night.

The Williamsburg Junior-Senior Pioneers welcomed the Kemptville #3 Wildcats to the J. C. Whitteker Ball Park on Wed., May 17, in the Upper Canada Little League. The Pioneers’ defence came up huge in the top of the first inning allowing only three batters to the plate and their offence scored their first four batters in the bottom of the first taking a 4-0 lead into the second inning.

The Wildcats only got three more batters to the plate in the top of the second inning but the Pioneers’ offence put up another five runs in the bottom of the second taking a 9-0 lead. In the top of the third inning, the Wildcats were struck out twice and the other batter was thrown out at first. The Pioneers scored a single run in the bottom of the third to take a 10-0 lead.

The Wildcats finally got on the board in the top of the fourth scoring four runs but the Pioneers answered with another four runs taking a 14-4 lead. The Wildcats got three more runs across the plate to cut the Pioneers’ lead to 14-7 but the Pioneers didn’t have to go to bat in the bottom of the inning and took the game 14-7 and remain undefeated.

Scoring the runs for the Pioneers were Dean Lapier with three, Nolan Henry, Kendrew Byers, Raiden Irvine and Isaiah Summers scored two each and Aron Vander Zweep, Devon Swindells and Parker Baker each scored singles.
